Event Details:
Boralex is initiating a Class Environmental Assessment for Minor Transmission Facilities (“Class EA”) for the Tilbury North Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) (“the Project”), with Stantec Consulting Ltd. acting as Boralex’s consultant.
The Project is a proposed BESS with a capacity of approximately 50 – 80 Megawatts in the Municipality of Lakeshore, Ontario within the parcel of land as shown on the attached map (the “Project Area”). The Project will have a direct connection to the existing 230 kV transmission line via line tap.
The Project is subject to the Class EA in accordance with the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The Class EA is a streamlined process for transmission projects anticipated to have a predictable range of environmental effects that can feasibly be mitigated with protection measures in place. The Class EA process contains screening provisions that may apply to this Project. Subject to the outcome of the Class EA process, the planned in-service date is May 2025.
Boralex will be hosting a public information centre (PIC) on November 3, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. The purpose of the PIC will be to provide the public with an oppportunity to engage with Boralex directly and to provide insight on the Project. The PIC will be held at the Comber Community Centre at:
